Answer
I agree with the first post that the endocrine system is composed of glands and tissues located throughout the human body that control the rate of metabolism, body development, organ functions, sleep, reproduction and other things. It’s comparable to the nervous system because it controls and activates some of the most important roles of the body. Nevertheless, while the nervous system utilizes nervous impulses and neurochemicals to interconnect to different parts of the body, the endocrine system utilizes hormones (Huether, & MacCance, 2019). Every gland releases hormones that target precise organs and tissues in the body. For instance, the Hypothalamus is a gland that releases numerous hormones that regulate the pituitary gland. It is also involved in controlling several roles, as well as temperature of the body and craving. Furthermore, it regulates the function of other endocrine glands. The hypothalamus gland stimulates the pituitary gland, and releases hormones that spark growth. The pituitary gland can also regulate the role of other ductless glands.
I agree that hormones operate by communicating and regulating data between cells and tissues to carry particular controlling information. According to Kalamarz-Kubiak (2018), even though the hormones go through the whole body, they affect only target cells with definite receptors for that precise hormone that then induct the precise cell activity. The adrenal cortex, for example, releases two major classes of corticosteroid hormones that are greatly involved in physiological procedures as well as response to stress and immune. One is glucocorticoids, which is secreted by the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. Mineralcorticoids are mainly involved in controlling electrolyte and indicators activated by the kidney facilitate them (Kalamarz-Kubiak, 2018). When the Corticotrophin-Releasing Hormone (CRH) is created, it induces the pituitary gland, which secretes Adrenal Corticotrophic Hormone (ACTH). This will continuously activate the adrenal glands to secrete corticosteroid hormones.
