Therefore, the future of internet governance predicts a more strengthening, improving, democratizing internet governance. This paper, therefore, highlights NETmundial as the most likely future scenario of internet governance and structure and the most dangerous.
NETmundial is the predicted internet governance scenario that is most likely to be implemented due to its advantages. It is principled to ensure freedom of expression, privacy, transparency, multistakeholder governance, universality, cultural diversity, and net neutrality. Also, NETmundial focuses on strengthening, improving, democratizing internet governance. More importantly, it supports the United Nation’s Internet Governance Forum (IGF) to participate in developing countries. Additionally, it considers the business communities and the civil societies are ensuring a broader and long-term public interest. Moreover, it has overwhelming support from the private sector, civil societies, governments, academia, and the technical community. Notably, if NETmundial fails to undertake human rights into account, it would be the most dangerous internet governance in the future. Therefore, NETmundial is the predicted internet governance scenario that is most likely to be implemented due to its advantages. Also, it could be the most dangerous internet governance and structure.
