    QUESTION

Search the GCU Library and find one new health care article that uses quantitative research. Do not use an article from a previous assignment, or that appears in the Topic Materials or textbook. Complete an article analysis and ethics evaluation of the research using the “Article Analysis and Evaluation of Research Ethics” template. See Chapter 5 of your textbook as needed, for assistance. While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and documentation of sources should be presented using APA formatting guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

Wong, H., Karaca, Z., & Gibson, T. B. (2018). A Quantitative Observational Study of Physician Influence on Hospital Costs. INQUIRY: The Journal of Health Care Organization, Provision, and Financing, 55, 0046958018800906.

Point

Description

Broad Topic Area/Title

The title of the selected is a quantitative observational study of physician influence on hospital costs.

Problem Statement

(What is the problem research is addressing?)

The article examines the costs of physicians on the health sector. Several cases have been witnessed where the physicians and medical practitioners’ costs have propagated the closure of hospitals and other healthcare facilities. To address this challenge, this described the costs that hospitals incur in in physicians for effective operation of healthcare facilities. As such, there is need to evaluate whether the author examined this issue effectively and comprehensively.

Purpose Statement

(What is the purpose of the study?)

This study seeks to evaluate and examine the proven findings of a quantitative analysis regarded the costs that medical practitioners serving in the healthcare facilities are being paid.

Research Questions

(What questions does the research seek to answer?)

Research questions

Some of the research questions being considered include:

«  How does this research contribute to the field of nursing?

«  What are the implications of your research towards practice, theory or policy?

«  What lessons do you learn from analysis this article?

Define Hypothesis

(Or state the correct hypothesis based upon variables used)

Some of the hypotheses regarding this research include

Ho: The study established techniques and methodologies that workers can use in the nursing field to conduct a research.

H1: The information used to establish the facts about this study was collected using established methods.

H2: The recommendations included in this study can be used effectively to address the challenges highlighted in the article.

H4; The implications of this study is that it will have a positive influence in the nursing field.

Identify Dependent and Independent Variables and Type of Data for the Variables

The independent variables for this study are costs used to offer effective nursing facilities and services in Arizona and Florida states.

The dependent variables include the number of patients visiting healthcare facilities in Arizona and Florida states, the available facilities in these states, the assets that hospitals in these states use to provide quality healthcare services and area covered.

Population of Interest for Study

The populations of interest for the study are persons living in the states of Florida and Arizona.

Sample

The study used  a sample population of states of Arizona and Florida

Sampling Method

This study used random sampling technique because the two states under the study were densely populated and therefore it was difficult to interview every resident.

Identify Data Collection

Identify how data were collected

Data collection was conducted through questionnaires, interviews and observation. Individuals staying in these states were given questionnaires and required to answer all the questions within the questionnaires. Besides, individuals were chosen randomly and interviewed on the study topic. Moreover, observation was performed on how hospitals and other healthcare facilities in the two states under the discussion were conducted. Data for this study was also collected by using tools such as records.

Summarize Data Collection Approach

The techniques that the researcher used to collect the data for this study was effective since the process yielded accurate and valid information. Secondly, the approach that the researcher used to handle the collected data was effective because it resulted in accurate information free from bias or any interference.

Discuss Data Analysis

Include what types of statistical tests were used for the variables.

The researcher effectively used mathematical models to analyze the collected data. To analyze and present the data, the researcher used pie charts, graphs and other visualization approaches. The researcher also used mathematical models including SPSS to establish the findings of this study. The process was effective because these models enabled the researcher to determine the facts regarding the chosen topic.

Summarize Results of Study

The findings of this study revealed many things that the government should consider to ensure effective delivery of affordable healthcare to its citizens. The findings revealed that the government should hire additional medical practitioners, use awareness to fight for healthy living standards, increase more healthcare facilities are some of the methods through which the government can ensure effective delivery of affordable healthcare to its citizens.

Summary of Assumptions and Limitations

Identify the assumptions and limitations from the article.

Report other potential assumptions and limitations of your review not listed by the author.

One major limitation is that a huge population was used in the study and this made it difficult to collect the views and judgement of everyone within the two states. Regarding limitation, there was an insufficient fund to conduct the research. It was also assumed that the views of random selected resident were shared with another dweller from the same state. Still on assumption, it was assumed that costs incurred in a single healthcare facility is the same as the one incurred in a different facility within the two states being discussed

Privacy and anonymity is a major potential ethical consideration that occurred during the study. () noted that the issue of obscurity and secrecy are essentially related to the privileges of the basic rights of dweller in the states of Arizona and Florida. It is required that name of the participant should not be disclosed during the study. However, from this study, the participants were never assured of their privacy and confidentiality and thus it is difficult to know whether the information they provided were kept confidential or private. For this reason, the researchers need to address this moral problem by assuring all the participants about the confidentiality of the information they provide during the study.

Safety of the entire participant is another potential ethical consideration that might have occurred in the course of this study. In this study, the intrusion of protection occurred when for instance frames of mind, convictions, records, and conclusions were made by different people without the acceptance or consent of the participants or respondents.

Summary

The revelation of ethical considerations that the researchers in this study wanted to discover were adequately considered during the study. The researchers also considered privacy and confidentiality of the participants and thus it is believed that the study findings were accurate and valid.
