The Gospel Of and John and the Messiah

For each video, describe and explain two things that you learned that you didn’t know before that were interesting or enlightening.

Gospel of John Video Part One

One of the new and interesting information that I have learned in this video is that there two Johns: john the Baptist and john the apostle. While I have been aware of the famous John in the bible I did not know that they are two. Through the video I have understood that there is john the Baptist and john the apostle who is the son of Zebedee. In the same video, I have also learned about all the seven title that was given to Jesus.  They include Rabbi, the son of God, the son of man, the lamb, Jesus of Nazareth, King of Israel, and Messiah.

Gospel of John Video Part Two

Gospel of John Video Part Two, I have learned the meaning and the reason why Jesus washed the feet of his followers. According to the video, one of the reasons is to demonstrate his self living love. It also symbolized that Jesus is a servant who was about to die to save mankind from the wrath of His father-God. Interesting information that I have learned is that despite the tittles of Jesus that include the way of life, the true son of God, and the redeemer, the Jewish authority managed to crucify him, something that confirmed to them that Jesus had no powers. However, they realized that Jesus had powers when he resurrected.

The Messiah video

In the Messiah video, the first interesting thing that I have read and I still do not understand is why snake had to be associated with evil and cheating man in the Garden of Eden. Could it be that God hated the snake from the beginning or could it be that there were no any other creatures that could act in this part? The second interesting information that I have captured in this video is that after man committed sin in the Garden of Eden, God sent his soon Jesus Christ to come and save mankind . However, even after that,  people still suffer and die.

Using both the Gospel of John Video and The Messiah video, explain how Jesus’ turns everyone’s expectations upside down and how God defeats sin and evil in the most surprising way.

The two videos show how Jesus’ turns everyone’s expectations upside down and how God defeats sin and evil in the most surprising ways. In Gospel of John video, Jesus kneels down and washes the feet of his disciples.  Being the leader, the son of God, and the Messiah, none of his followers believed that he could wash their feet. However, this was a sign if humility and love. On the same note, in the Messiah video, Jesus says is the ways, the divine, and the redeemer. He is both man and spirit. As a spirit, he is very powerful. However, with such powers he was killed by the Jews, something that turned down the expectation of several people who were following him. God, therefore, used unique ways of defeating sins by allowing his only son to die, something which is quite surprising.
