Answer
The Importance of Classification of Life on Earth
It is vital to note that all living organisms on earth are classified into an array of groups by scientists for identification. Every scientist uses different systems of classification to categorize living organisms into groups. It is important that we classify life on earth to enable easy understanding of the relationships which exist between living things. Classification is critical since it allows scientists, for example, to identify, categorize, and correctly name living organisms through Linnaeus Taxomy (a standardized system) on the basis of similarities established in the organisms’ genetics including DNA and RNA. The classification enables individuals to determine the shared characteristics of organisms because a given group is based on detailed similarities.
Scientists also classify organisms since it aids them in the identification of similar species. Classification aids in demonstrating the similarities between groups. Mammals, for example, have particular traits or characteristics in common and are different from birds. Lastly, classification of life helps in discussion because, for instance, people need to understand why dogs are mammals whereas cardinals are birds yet they intend to display some similarities.
Human beings use classification in their daily lives, for example, to sort out documents, for instance, in terms of color or content. Even in the kitchen, one use classification to categorize cutlery including spoons and forks due the similarities they exhibit. Schools also classify students according to their levels of study, for example, primary, secondary, and tertiary. Libraries also use classification to arrange books for easy accessibility and identification. It would be very tiresome to find a book in the library if it were not for classification. As such, classification plays a critical role in humans’ lives.
Notably, just like any other ideas, scientific evidence is also a subject of changes. Scientific evidence refers to an explanation describing the truth about an aspect or how something figured out using a scientific process works. The evidence change as a result of new scientific observation or as evidence improves, for example, by new ways of thinking. The more experiments scientists conduct the more data they gather and the better their scientific evidence and ideas become. Scientific evidence relies on observational and experimental confirmations and in a situation where the data is incomplete, improved or new data may well result in revision of accepted science explanation.
Scientific evidence may change as a result of the development or advancement of new techniques or mechanisms for observing investigation, for example, new technologies. Besides, the evidence can change through having new ways of framing the questions asked or thinking. The evidences are also subjected to testing, confirmation, and review to determine their applicability in this dynamic world. As such, new observations always lead to the changes in the scientific evidence or ideas. Additionally, changes in scientific evidence are also affected by religious, political or social convictions.
