Many scholars regard the literary works of the American Revolutionary Period as nationalist propaganda to help instill in colonists a sense of American pride. After having read the selections from Paine, Crevecoeur, and Wheatley, what examples of this propaganda can you find? Is it important for a developing nation? Why or why not?
