The role of CFLCC Operations Sergeant Major in Joint Operations Planning (JOPP)
Coalition Forces Land Component Command (CFLCC) Operations Sergeant Major is in charge of the overall operations and assigning of duties for the various troops within the camp. The FLCC has the role of receiving and verifying intelligence from various sources and dispatching the intelligence to the troop leaders for execution where necessary (Lowery, 2017). It is the role of the CFLCC to ensure that procedures are followed in dispatching the subject information to the concerned parties. The following are some of the ways through which, as a CFLCC Operations Sergeant Major, I can be contribute to Joint Operations Planning (JOPP)
Through General Operational Advice
As CFLC commander, I will be responsible for matters pertaining to planning and coordination during battles. I know that this office is actually a senior non-commissioned officer, monitoring and supervising the performance of enlisted staff (Smyth, 2007). This officer is also in charge of authenticating, preparing and publishing the overall tactical Standards Operating Procedures from the regiment through the battalion level. This officer also recommends priorities regarding allocation of resources. These among other will be my key contributions to operational issues.
Training
According to Smyth (2007), CFLCC ensures that readiness of the whole command is observed. The officer carries out training programs according to the proposed syllabus and exercises. I will, therefore, ensure that training and tests are conducted. I will also steer head inspections and evaluations, besides being responsible for overseeing the recording and compiling training records and reports.
Organization
The office of CFLCC maintains statistics of the unit’s capabilities and performance. The office is involved in assigning, attaching and detaching teams and units (Smyth, 2007). I will, therefore, ensure that the force has proper documentation which will help in equipping the force.
