The Role of International Students in Australian Economy

Introduction

The number of students enrolling in higher education has been on the upward trend in Australia. According to the International Students Data, (2017), over 600,000 students were enrolled in various learning levels in Australia in 2015, with the number increasing to over 700,000 in 2016. According to De Wit, (2015), the global competition for international students has universally increased. In further research, it was revealed that international students in Australia play a significant role in enhancing skill, and productivity of the Australian workforce as well as economic development through tuition and other subsidiary fees.
