The social science monoculture

In the article, "The social science monoculture doubles down," Keith Stanovich talks about and describes the "my side bias," that runs prevalent in the social sciences. The data clearly shows that the bias skews heavily in favor of left-leaning, progressive ideology in the social sciences. In your opinion, what are the risks (if any) associated with an intellectual elite (whom are responsible for generating social facts) that has consistent bias in their research methods/findings?
