Question 1
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) together with the Institute of Medicine (IOM) established a key initiative on the report of ‘Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health.’ Initially, the program intended to carry out a major study with an objective of producing a transformational report about the forthcoming of nursing ("About RWJF", 2016). Thus, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation planned to examine the capacity of the workforce in the nursing sector. Besides, the foundation decided to cultivate a set of audacious national recommendations. The initiatives spearheaded by New York’s action coalition are the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the AARP Foundation. They advance the nursing profession by demonstrating comprehensive, nonpartisan action support on the recommendations of the nursing report. They also encourage the high-level leaders from different fields to be involved in the actions coalitions. Other than that, they generate the significant attention from the media to any issue. Lastly, they ensure the local, state and national levels are involved.
The AARP initiative intends to spur the entrepreneurial doings through the private and public sectors. Lastly, New York faces several barriers to advancement. Among them are education, diversity, and inter-professional collaboration. However, the nursing advocates overcome these issues through attaining an improved education which will enable them to deliver high-quality care to the patients ("New York", 2016). Other than that, they engage in partnerships with other different stakeholders so that they can spread, support and implement models of inter-professional collaboration in training.
