ASHANTI Future Higher Education Trends With the advancement of trends in higher education continuously changing in society the topic of community advocacy, community engagement, and community service will change in the same aspect. The social issues we face today will possibly be different from the social issues we may face in the future so therefore the way community advocacy, engagement, and community service will look overall will be different as well. As things continue to change in higher education the way community advocacy, community engagement, and community service will be taught would need to be more current to the times that are relevant. The way community advocacy, community engagement, and community service looked in the early 1900s is different from how it is now in the 21st century. So as future trends in higher education change so will the need for how the way community advocacy, community engagement, and community service are being presented will change as well. Trends in Human Services Trends in human services will definitely impact the presentation of community advocacy, community engagement, and community service because if there is something that is current and going on within human services it will be important to incorporate some of that information within community advocacy, community engagement, and community service. Keeping up to date with trends in human services is very relevant to how a topic is being addressed. Learners being exposed to current trends in human services amongst community advocacy, community engagement and community service can provide advanced preparation for how to move forward in acknowledging action that can be taken within those trends of human services (Learning With Current Events, n.d.). Community advocacy, community engagement and community service are all based on what is going on within a community so the way these three concepts are taught and applied will be based on what the current issues are at hand. So with both higher education and human service trends, community advocacy, community engagement and community service will adapt to the current times and current events.
