1. 1. QUESTION

   Context: A wedding is a very personal and usually expensive experience. Planning a wedding means having a detailed concept firmly in place. The wedding planner must be a very good communicator, and that includes being an expert listener and observer. He or she must be very calm, very well organised and able to cover all the aspects of the clients’ needs with confidence and expertise. That final presentation of the plans for their big day is terribly important to you, as a professional, and to your clients. This assessment is your chance to design a wedding for a client. The aim is to apply the information you have learned during this subject to a full wedding plan for a specific couple. Consider this as a professional ‘dry run’ for the real thing. You are expected to present this wedding plan using multi-media, as this is common practice in the industry. EVT204A Assessment 3 Brief Page 2 of 8 Instructions: 1. Imagine you have received a brief from your client requiring you, as a professional wedding planner, to develop the entire concept for their wedding. Make sure you cover all the relevant elements of wedding planning you have studied throughout the trimester: e.g. venue, cake, dress, invitations, venues for ceremony and reception, budget, any legal requirements (such as licences, timeline of the day, etc). Contact your learning facilitator and discuss the basics of the scenario you wish to develop: Who is your client? What is their budget for this wedding? Once your scenario has been approved, in consultation with your learning facilitator, prepare a detailed visual and verbal presentation to the ‘client’ of the wedding concept and design. The presentation should last approximately 20 minutes. Details of the presentation are: Online Students: 1. Using the multi-media style of your choice (e.g. PowerPoint, Prezi, Video, Website) submit on the learning portal both the visual presentation, and the notated script you would use to present to your ‘client’ and a voice-over. (If you choose to present a website please include the written script as part of the actual website and a voiceover and/or video to guide the reader.) 2. Be sure to include plenty of visual data (e.g. photos; embedded videos). Face-to-face Students: 2. Using the multi-media style of your choice (e.g. PowerPoint, Prezi, Video, Website) submit on the learning portal both the visual presentation, and the notated script you would use to present to your ‘client’. The work you submit must be your own, but based on research into current suppliers. Please label any images used in the presentation according to the requirements of the APA 6 th style of referencing. You should include a reference list written in the APA 6th style for any textbooks, websites or other references you use to prepare your answers.
