Women and Arts: The Case of Dana Schutz
Dana Schutz is an American artist who is known for her efforts in painterly translating intangible concepts into dynamic compositions. The artist’s works are mainly figurative and gestural concepts which take on the specific themes such as that of culture. Moreover, it is also a fact that her works have implemented fictive subjects created by the artist with an aim of responding to the primary occurrences available in the world. Notably, Dana has managed to use colorful brush strokes to represent an absurd situation which is a representation of her creativity. It is a fact that the artist has focused on challenging herself to come up with an impractical subject which can be difficult to paint.
Having explored Schutz’s works, the following question emerged.
What mainly influences the subject matter of Schutz’s artwork and paintings besides culture?

The image above was chosen since it was created through the use of different strategies and techniques, whereby the use of brush strokes is common. Additionally, an element of culture is also visible in the image hence providing an indication that the theme common in Dana Schutz’s works can be illustrated through the use of the image above. Moreover, the complexity of coming up with the image above can be felt as common in Schutz’s paintings which mostly have an impractical subject which can be difficult to paint.
