Part 1:
For this part of the final, you will compare World War I with World War II. You must consider:
Causation of these wars.
Hint: Please do not tell me that WWI was caused by the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, that may have been the spark, but there are other factors leading to this war.
Impact of these wars on West civilization (not just the United States).
Select at least one other area to compare (technology, experience of the foot soldier, economics, role of women, role on non-Europeans, etc.)
You may answer this question in one of the following ways:
As a traditional essay (3-4 pages), or
You may prepare a narrated (by you) presentation on PowerPoint, Prezi, Google Slides, etc.
You may create a pictorial essay, including explanations of the photos and a comparison of the theme of the photos.
You may write from a firsthand perspective as someone (or something like an inanimate object) that witnessed both wars (Remarque, for example).
You can be as creative as you like, but you must provide a comparison of these wars revolutions and you must include primary sources for support.
Regardless of how you present your answer, you should include a thesis statement and a Works Consulted page at the end listing the sources you used for your answer.
